A trip to the market always means a stop at the floral section for me. I don't always buy flowers, but I definitely look.
Just about any flower looks good to me, but one either with lots of petals, like the ranunculus, or lots of tiny flowers on each stem, like wax flowers, would be my first choice.
I also tend to love the pink or peachy flowers.
Once I get home, after putting my groceries away, I head straight back to my studio to start putting together still life. As you can see by the images to the right, I shoot several using basically the same props, with a little variation.
I do try to change things up a little by adding in some different props, shooting at different angles and by using a different preset for editing.
Have you been to the market lately? Maybe it's time for a new bunch of flowers in your home ... either to capture in some beautiful images, or just to sit on your table and enjoy.

Omgoodness, how beautiful are these! I luv each and every image Carolyn. And those flowers, what’s not to luv about these. I have never had the pleasure of buying ranunculus and/or photographing them. I don’t see them in the stores in my area. I may have to do a special order with a florist.
Such beautiful colors and the light… oh my! Each image is different from the other. These definitely hit my ‘joyful’ nerve.

Thank you so much Tina! So very kind of you! They are really an incredible flower. Doing a special order sounds so nice! I didn’t know you could do that with a florist. 🙂

Beautiful images and the colors are magnificent. I love how you used the shadows in several of the images too.

Thank you Debra! Those shadows bother me sometimes, but others they add to the images. 🙂
