Old pieces of furniture neatly placed outside Gatherings seem to catch my eye as I drive down El Camino Real in Atascadero. I've always been drawn to thrift store shopping and this sweet little shop has never disappointed me!
A quick little wander back to the rear of the store and I'm pretty much always happily leaving the store with some new little treasure. On this particular day, I was pleasantly surprised to find not one, but four of these sweet little cup and saucer sets. I kept my purchase to one, as I don't use them to have tea with friends. 🙂
One day though, realizing that my friend Debra was about to have a birthday, I remembered that Gatherings still had more cup and saucer sets when I left that day. So I headed back over and sure enough, on the shelf were still three sets.
I grabbed one, took it home and packaged it up to send off to New Jersey.
Debra and I have done projects together before and thought it would be fun to each do a blog post sharing photos of the cup and saucer.

Beautiful cup photos and so very different than mine. This is what makes art so wonderful, the same item and we saw it completely different. It is an extension of each of us. Thank you for the cup and wonderful birthday gift! Fun project indeed . . .
