Social media success is a topic in our thought life these days ... in particular, if you have a business you're working on getting off the ground or pushing forward to reach a larger audience.
We may try to act as though it isn't important, but those numbers mean something to us. My social media has been successful in different levels and so today I'm just going to share a few things I've done to help.
Posting:
My main social media accounts are on Instagram and Pinterest and I do different things on each in order to engage and grow my following.
If you're trying to grow your following, you need to have something for them to follow. When I'm working on boosting my Instagram, I will post a couple of images in one day. But typically I post one image a day.
On Pinterest I always post more than one at a time. I don't post daily on Pinterest, but my goal is three or so times a week.
This keeps my posts in front of my followers on a regular basis and they remember me ... you can be forgotten quickly on social media!
Hashtags, Geotags & Links
We all know what hashtags are ... on Instagram you're allowed 30 ... use all of them! They are the main way your posts will get in front of new people!
On Pinterest, there is a character count limit. I typically do a short description and just a few hashtags, so make those hashtags count!
Geotags are important because they let people know at least the general area you're posting from. If they're looking for a portrait photographer or someone to come and photograph their menu, they'll find you when they do an area search.
Link your posts back to one another and to your sites! I put links everywhere I can. Every one of my Pinterest posts has a link either to a blog post or just my site in general or to my Instagram. That way people can easily find me everywhere! And on my Instagram I use linktr.ee . If you aren't familiar with it, it's a way where you can have links to different places you want people to connect with you. Go to my Instagram and you'll see it in my profile.
