As summer comes to an end ... although we're expecting 105 today ... the beautiful and colorful flowers fade away ... everything dries up ... the grasses are dry ... my plants are all struggling. We're awaiting the pretty colors of fall and the cooler temperatures ... that doesn't happen for us until later in the season. Sometimes the wait is hard. Sometimes the beauty doesn't return as quickly as we would like.
Life can be like that. Sometimes there is so much beauty that surrounds you. Laughter, happiness ... and then things change ... hard things come along. The laughter fades ... relationships become hard ... sickness happens ... life can become a struggle.
But I know that there is hope. Hope in God. The peaceful and beautiful moments will return ... because He says so throughout His word. I love these verses out of Lamentations ...
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:21-26
Whatever your situation, I encourage you to wait on God. Hope in Him. Salvation will come.
