It’s interesting when you have an idea and then you attempt to put it together. Or maybe when you’ve just bought something new and want to create an image with it. Sometimes the two come together as one image and other times … well, it may just not work out.
An old-fashioned Christmas is so appealing to me. Maybe because I’m a bit old-fashioned or possibly because I’m sentimental. I honestly don’t remember for sure if we ever hung popcorn on our Christmas trees as a child, but I love the look. We definitely never strung cranberries. I had never even seen a whole raw cranberry until I was an adult.
My actual idea for a still life never really worked out, but I did have some fun stringing popcorn and cranberries and then creating my images.
Don’t you just love this metal envelope?! Last week I went to Texas and made a special trip down to Waco to visit Magnolia Market … Fixer Upper is one of my favorite shows!
I had imagined a wonderful still life with this envelope filled with greenery and other rustic items. I just stopped at the greenery though … and I really like it! What do you think?
But then, I wanted to incorporate my string of popcorn and cranberries with the envelope just to add a pop of color.
My final image is my favorite! And although the images didn’t turn out like my original idea I do love them all. Which is your favorite?
Thanks again for stopping by. Oh … do you follow me on Instagram? If not, I’d love it if you did. 🙂
