Natural light is pretty much always my choice in Still Life Photography, but sometimes it's fun to play around with other types of light just to see what you come up with. The difference can be drastic or can be so subtle. Today the difference was pretty subtle.
I have this great south facing window and it is where I do most of my still life shots. In the morning, the sun gives a nice soft light coming from the left of this shot as you can see.
In this photo, all I did was add the twinkle lights. Somehow just adding those, there was more shadowing at the front of the image and a nice orange glow at the back near the little lights.
It's not that easy to notice, but in this last shot, I used my flash. The whole image has a bit of a yellow tone to it. Other than that, it isn't that much different than the first.
