All the gifts are wrapped and under the tree. The house is quiet, the glow of the lights and the warmth from the fire create a restful feeling … one that we need before all of the uproar that will be happening tomorrow and after all of the frenzy we’ve gone through to get to this point.
I know that many of you will be busy wrapping gifts and doing last minute things into the night in preparation for tomorrow and I pray that there will be a peace that washes over you and that your hearts will be full.
As I sit here looking at my tree, I think about what a special time this is and I consider the reasons why we even go through all of this craziness and spending…
Gifts under a tree are a thing of this world, but they came from a beautiful moment. One in a stable where our King was born. No one put them on a list or advertised them as the season’s best or most wanted, but nonetheless, they were given. They were given out of love and adornment for the child that was to be born.
And so as I sit, I think about my King, my Savior, who was born to give me (and you) new life. I think about his birth and the sacrifices he made for us so that we could have peace and everlasting life.
And I pray for you, for health and the kind of happiness that only He can bring as we finish out 2020 and begin our journey into 2021.
