What a day we've been given to celebrate! The opportunity to honor our moms. And that is what I plan to do here today.
My hope isn't just to honor my mom, but to inspire you to honor yours. No matter how old or young she is, she deserves honor.
Mom and I struggled throughout our relationship. But not always. I’m sure it’s the same for you. You have some struggles and you have some good times. Remember the good times. 🙂
You won’t always have your mom with you. Right now you may think you will or feel like you still have so much time with her. But you never know when that final moment will come when you’ll see her and then the next you won’t.
So honor her today, this month. Honor her every day. With a phone call, a text, a card. Maybe some little something.
One thing my mom taught me was that a gift is a gift. It doesn’t have to be big or cost lots of money. In Korean tradition you never go to someone empty-handed. One time we were at the store and Mom was looking for a gift for her friend Kim. We wandered through the department store and ended up in the sock department. She bought her a little pair of slipper socks. I think they cost her about two dollars. But it was a gift and it was something she was giving to someone she loved.
What can you do for your mom today? What would you want to be able to look back on and say I remember I gave this or that to my mom. Or I did this or that to make her feel special.
p.s. If you know me, or follow me anywhere online, you know that my Mom passed away February 21st of this year. I am unable to honor her to her face but I will honor her in the way I carry the most special thing she left me. Are you wondering what that is? She left me part of her. I have her in me. I am like her in so many ways. And so I will honor her in who I am.

My mom passed away seven years ago – I still miss her so much – there is a massive hole in my heart, but I also hear her in my head, all those lessons she thought I didn’t listen to or little bits of wisdom she shared through our lives. The memories are good, and I hold them close.
Hugs to you and the joy of remembering – your mom will always be part of you! ❤️🤗

I’m sorry to hear that Connie. It’s amazing how all those things we learn from our Mom’s come back to us and the best times. Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words.
