The evenings are the best out here. Especially this time of year and after a hot day like today. The breeze that comes up the mountain brings a perfect coolness to the day and seems to blow away all cares and concerns.
So come on, take a walk with me! Over the years we've worn a path around the top of this mountain. It's a necessity if you want to enjoy a walk out here ... having a path that is. I'd never heard of star thistle until I came out here ... between that and all of the other sticker covered weeds, it's almost impossible to walk without a path.
And actually, the weeds are so strong that we have to work on that path every spring. As you can see, there's still alot of weeds on the path. I drive on it as much as I can as I come and go.
It's about a third of a mile loop around the top. We'll head to the power pole first, then back by the house and out to the well.
The eucalyptus trees look so pretty this time of day with a little gleam of evening light. I love listening to the sound of the leaves and they dance in the breeze.
I especially love watching the sun over on the mountains to the west as it ends the day for us. It's almost as though it's saying 'you've done enough today ... rest, sleep well'. And that is just what I will do now. 🙂 Enjoy your evening!
