How close do you feel to God?
Could your relationship be closer?
I was thinking about the difference between our relationships with friends and family and our relationship with God.
For instance, I have a friend who will often text me in the morning to see how I’m doing. I’ll text her back and we’ll have a conversation going over a period of time. You have friends like that who you text with back and forth.
What are your conversations with God like? Do you 'text' Him back and forth? Do you talk with Him for a period of time?
What would life be like if we asked God a question and then waited for Him to respond … instead of just moving along and doing our own thing, or just forgetting that we even asked Him something?
What would life be like if you asked a friend or your husband a question and then just walked off, not waiting for a response or hearing what the response was?
Many of us don’t believe God will hear us or answer us …
Many of us don’t believe we can get a quick answer from Him ...
How close are you to Him? How deep does your intimacy with Him go?
It can go deep. Deeper than I think we can even comprehend. Look at the 'disciple whom Jesus loved' in John 13:23 or Anna in the Temple in Luke 2:36-38. What kind of love is that … to lean on someone’s breast or to spend your days in the temple serving God night and day?
He calls us to get closer to him all throughout the Word. He tells us to draw near to Him and He will draw near to us. We all need to get closer ... and I put myself right at the top of that list!
Seek Him ... He loves it when we do!
